Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. A member of Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) and the spokesperson for the Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was an election contributor to CNN between 2017-2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as a political contributor for CNN. She worked on re-election campaigns for Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later appointed as the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's campaign for president in 2004. Psaki worked from 2005 to 2006 as the communications director for Joseph Crowley, U.S. representative, and as regional press secretary to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. 20 Psaki was fired as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. She was hired at the Department of State to fill the White House Press Secretary Jay Carney's position.[21However, Josh Earnest took his place on May 30, 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
